About François

François Schoenberger is a postdoctoral researcher investigating the privatisation of health and social care services. His work examines how financial and corporate actors shape service provision, building on his previous research into corporate executives, particularly in finance and investment.

He holds a PhD in Sociology, where his doctoral research analysed mechanisms of profit generation in corporate finance. His dissertation explored how investment bankers cultivate and leverage social capital for financial gain, while also examining the pervasive culture of overwork in the sector.

At the Blavatnik School of Government, François contributes to the project “Evaluating the Outsourcing of Social Care in England.” More details on this research can be found on the Nuffield Foundation website.

His work has been published in academic journals including the British Journal of Sociology and Genèses. A full list of his publications is available on his Google Scholar profile.
