On 8 October, 2024, Juliana Outes Velarde, Senior Data Steward at the GO Lab, participated in a panel discussion in Brussels on the role of data stewardship in building resilient, trustworthy data ecosystems. Hosted by The Data Tank, the event convened leading experts to explore how effective data governance and stewardship can drive positive social outcomes across Europe.
Juliana underscored GO Lab’s work in promoting responsible data use through initiatives like the International Network on Data for Impact and Government Outcomes (INDIGO). She highlighted that building trust and transparency in data-sharing practices is just as important as developing technical solutions, emphasising the need for "human infrastructure" to complement technological advancements.
The event closed with a call for organisations across Europe to embrace strong data stewardship principles, supporting transparency, trust, and long-term societal impact.
